About me

It was among the mud that we created pottery, and on the rocks we slapped our hand prints. Music, poetry, food, jewelry, ceramics, religion; our creations are our cultures. Art stirs a generational sadness, happiness, anger, invokes feelings of change, of resistance, of hope. With the looming threat of facism in our country, They are desperate to keep us without connection to nature or to each other. What has kept artists inspired for centuries, has become harder to access.

Human made art is more important now than ever. It would be easy to stay within our plaster walls, to let the corporations sell our national parks, to accept the erasure of libraries, gardens and malls, where kids could at one point gather without being charged for “loitering”. We could instead live from home; it's most efficient to shop on Amazon from the same screen you attend to your Zoom meetings, to get intimacy from a catalog, and become an artist by taking three seconds to type a prompt into an image generator. I refuse to let them sell this to us as a perfect utopia.
why YOU (yes you) should make ART!
The birds are outside chirping, and your favorite redwood is still standing, a stranger can laugh with another stranger. You must let life inspire you, because we cannot let humanity lose our born purpose of creating.
I have lived in Bemidji, Minnesota for my entire life. I attended Schoolcraft from K-8th, then graduated from the Bemidji High School. I took every art class offered there, and was voted Most Artistic for the senior superlative. I had my art displayed at the Watermark Art Museum, which won the 2023 High School Art Show in Painting. In year one of my gap year (has since been three years), I traveled Europe for three months. There, I toured every art museum and church I could find, observed architecture and participated in different cultures, as well as connecting with people of all different backgrounds and lifestyles. My experiences there pushed me to remain passionate in the arts, and to follow a career that centers creativity and expression. I have since had my first solo art gallery St Catherines Tattoo Atelier, and am the current Artist Curator of Brigids Pub.
